SUMMER
Most of our energy goes to watering – although always with great restraint – the vegetables, and occasionally the orchards, and to tending to the health of the autumn harvests.
Early summer is when we harvest the dried plants of the fava beans, chickpeas, lentils and cicerchie, all of which must be threshed and winnowed.
The vegetables and the table grapes must also be harvested and taken into the city markets twice a week.
